FreeBSD has lots of

FreeBSD has lots of corporate usage, ever heard of company called Juniper? Juniper likewise has contributed lots of code back to the FreeBSD kernel. FreeBSD is not closed to outside contributions. Furthermore big contributions have come from Apple and Yahoo among many others.
Also, most software that is written to some kind of Unix normalcy should work on FreeBSD as well as Solaris or Mac OS X. Also since FreeBSD has a more permissive kernel license, it has ports of DTrace and ZFS. Both thing that may eventually come to Linux but are only not available because of the GPL.
The downfall of FreeBSD? UFS. UFS is slow as snails. Any benchmark you see comparing FreeBSD to Linux (see Phoronix) shows that computationally it's roughly neck and neck. When the bottleneck is disk access FreeBSD always loses.
I don't understand the comparisons though. It's all Unix in the end. I'm just as happy on Linux, FreeBSD or Solaris (Illumos based of course).

Hiya guys!
Just wanted to say that I hope this trend I am seeing is just a coincidence. Your podcasts seem to be getting shorter and shorter.
I realise you a several men down for this particular show, but please, keep up the quality and quantity. Btw, you guys inspired me to get back into linux, from the obvious fun and enjoyment you have on this show!
